Hickory Flat completes comeback against Kossuth to punch ticket to State Semi’s in volleyball

Hickory Flat, despite all the success they have had the last two years in volleyball, had an uphill task to make it past the 2nd round this year.

Consider the first stage of their hill climb complete.

The 1A Lady Rebels lost the first two sets 25-21 and 25-19 before completeing the epic comeback against the 3A Kossuth Lady, winning their 2nd round playoff matchup in dramatic fashion by taking the final 3 sets 25-10, 26-24 and 15-8. They advance to face Resurrection Catholic on Thursday in Oxford in the Class I semifinals.

Hickory Flat is the smallest school in the state still playing volleyball.

If their season success to this point is any indication, just call them mountain climbers.
